DEAD TO OLD WAYS

            Knowing this, that our old man was crucified with him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin. So the old man, the old person was crucified. The way it really talks about here, he says the old man was crucified that the body of sin might be done away with. And in verse 6 it really says the old self was crucified so that we might not be controlled by sin. And this word crucified or died is the word that doesn't mean annihilated. It just means it's rendered inactive. It's made of no effect. In other words, we don't have to obey it.
